Mercator Medical (Thailand) Co., Ltd. celebrates the success of the opening of new plant and machinery to increase production capacity to support the production capacity of 144 million pieces per month, raising the standard of production, International Organization for Standardization ISO9001 / ISO 13485, CE Certification for examination gloves, GMP, FDA 510 (K), Thai FDA.
Mr. Leszek Jerzy Michnowski, Chairman and CEO of Mercator Medical (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said the Company has been approved by the BOI to expand the business of producing latex examination gloves from natural latex and synthetic latex, valued at 967 Million Baht. At present, the construction of the new plant is completed. It is located on the site of the original plant, and is in the process of running the machinery in production. It is expected to be able to run production this year.
For the new production plant, Mercator Medical was selecting a contractor with experience in construction of latex gloves production plant and with an expert on the machinery to be installed in the plant with a total of 8 production lines and nitrile glove production capacity about 144 million pieces per month. The Company believes that this investment decision will better serve the needs of its customers and deliver the highest quality products at a competitive price. The establishment of plant in Thailand is considered an advantage in terms of raw materials because Thailand currently supplies raw materials to Malaysia. However, if we talk about the cost of latex gloves produced in Malaysia, it will be cheaper in Thailand.
The increase in investment was due to the high demand for latex gloves in the market. Due to the emergence of new diseases, the need for medical gloves or examination gloves is increasing, especially demand from Asian countries such as India, Pakistan and China.
Mr. Leszek Jerzy said the overview of global latex gloves industry is expected to produce around 180,000 million pieces per year. However, this demand will increase every year by 5% or about 9,000 million pieces per year, and it is estimated that by 2020, the market value for high quality rubber gloves will be 7.9 Billion Baht.

The Asian market is still interesting and it is expected that in the future it will be more and more aware of the use of latex gloves because the epidemic is occurred frequently and seriously.
